This free Claude course takes a Shopify owner from first chat to running much of the store with Claude, in six lessons: learn what Claude is good at, connect it to your Shopify data, edit and design your theme, run ads analysis, write content that ranks, and build a team of AI coworkers. Each lesson is a step-by-step guide with a video. Work through them in order, on your own store, and check every output before it reaches a customer.

What is Claude, and why use it for ecommerce?

Claude is an AI assistant made by Anthropic. For a store owner it does three things well: it reads and reasons over a lot of information at once (sales data, reviews, ad results), it writes in a consistent brand voice, and it can now take actions in tools you connect to it.

That makes it useful for the repeatable work in a Shopify business: reporting, ad analysis, product and email copy, blog posts, customer service drafts and small theme changes. It is the main tool we use to teach the 80% AI, 20% human way of running a store.

The Claude apps you will meet in this course:

  • Claude chat: the everyday assistant, in the browser or desktop app.
  • Claude Cowork: Claude working through tasks on your computer and connected apps.
  • Claude Code: Claude working on files and code, including your Shopify theme.

What do you need before you start?

  • A Shopify store you can log in to as the owner or a staff member with the right permissions.
  • A Claude account. Several lessons use features on Anthropic's paid plans. Check Anthropic's current plans before you start.
  • Time to set it up. Watch each lesson, then set it up on your own store before moving to the next.

You do not need to code. If you can type into a chat box and follow a screen-share, you can do every lesson.

How do you use Claude safely in your store?

Treat Claude like a capable new team member: give it clear instructions and real data, and check its work.

  • Test theme changes on a duplicate theme, never on your live theme.
  • Approve anything that reaches customers: emails, product claims, ads and customer service replies.
  • Keep spend and offer decisions with a person.
  • Only connect the apps and permissions a task needs.
